Mothers Day

Mothers Day is kindov an ironic holiday. In a perfect world, its a day where mothers all over the world sit on a throne, get waited on all day, doing no work and simply bask in the glow of knowing that they are the worlds perfect mother. Then their is reality.

Mothers Day can in fact be a ton of work. Making plans, making breakfast for your family, making sure your own mom has the perfect gift, all while juggling family dynamics and drama. It isn’t always fun. The moments where your three year old hugs you tight, while saying “I love you, Mama” do make the day better. Their proud faces warm your heart when they give you the macaroni necklace they made and proudly didn’t eat upon completion. But, for the remaining twenty three hours and thirty minutes, there is work to be down. Here is a run down of some perfect mothers day gifts for all.

For the new mom:

  • Apple Watch
  • Gym Classes & Work Out Gear
  • Hire a Baby Nurse for the night
  • Gift Certificate for pictures with a photographer
  • Cold Sculpting
  • JEWELRY will never fail you….

For the more experienced mom:

  • Apple Watch- Make it fancy with the Hermes Strap
  • Family pictures with a photographer, but hire a stylist to make it stress free for mom
  • Ipad
  • Itunes gift cards- Sometimes it can be a luxury to not worry about buying music and books
  • Gym Classes

Teacher Appreciation

Teachers. In my 35 years of existence, I have had a love hate relationship with teachers. As a student I had respect and admiration for those that were nice to me. On the other hand, I had disdane and well, basically fear, for those teachers that were not nice to me! I guess looking back I could have tried harder. I could have had a better attitude. I could have been that model student! Well folks, Karma bit me in the ass as soon as my oldest child started school.

I can tell you it does take a special person to be a teacher. Working four nights a week, thirty minutes a day, I am reminded daily of how special teachers are, as I do homework with my son. The teeth clenching is real people, and it is not pretty! If this is thirty minutes, with my own child, who I gave birth to and inately love unconditionally, imagine how these amazing people get up every day to face our kids, all twenty to thirty of them in one room. I truly do not believe that its a coincidence that Teacher Appreciation Week is the same week as Cinco de Mayo. Drink those margaritas dear teachers, you most certainly have earned them!

Here are our top picks for creative and fun ways to say THANK YOU to your special teachers for all that they do!
